Open Day 2023
The 2023 Open Day took place on Sunday, July 2nd, alongside the Shaftesbury Gold Hill Festival. The day commenced with the Mayor unveiling a visitors' bench commemorating the coronation of HMS King Charles III.
The event proved to be highly successful for the Club, attracting a total of thirty visitors who eagerly engaged in the sport of bowling. Club Members were present to provide assistance, coaching, and guidance to the visitors, enabling them to experience the joys of playing lawn bowls. The age range of the attendees spanned from 1 to 91 years old, showcasing a diverse group of participants. The visitors demonstrated a strong interest in joining the club after trying their hand at the sport. Moreover, they had the opportunity to indulge in tea, cake, and engaging conversations about the club's offerings and off-season activities.
