Re-Assessment of Travelling Expenses

At a recent meeting of the General Management Committee it was decided to re-assess the travelling costs for members driving to away games in the light of the recent fuel price increases. The treasurer created a formula which included the current average cost of fuel, average miles per gallon, return mileage to each destination and an allowance for wear and tear. The new figures were considered by a group of GMC members and the agreed new costs for each destination the club travels to are posted on the notice board in the Clubhouse.
They will come into effect on July 1st 2022. They will not be back dated.
A few points of clarification about the travelling expenses.
1. They will be payable for all games arranged by the club. They will not be payable for games organised by individuals or groups of individuals eg county competitions.
2. Drivers travelling direct to an away game or taking one other passenger will not be eligible for travelling expenses.
3. Drivers taking 2 or 3 passengers will be eligible for travelling expenses.
4. Vouchers will continue to be issued to the drivers and these should now be redeemed at the bar.

HOME GAMES

1. The captain of the day will check the home teams are all present and correct.

They will greet the opposing Captain and agree with them on the order of play, allocating rinks to teams and add each other's teams’ names to their cards. They will agree on half time requirements if needed and toss the coin for the mat.

2. They will pass the envelope, cash bag and form to the kitchen team who will later collect the green fees that will have been put in the pots on the tables. The kitchen team will take out of the green fees their expenses, fill in the form and put the cash balance in the cash bag. At the end of their duties the envelope will be placed in the black box.

3. The Captain of the day will, when all players are gathered at their allocated rinks on the green, speak to all players welcoming the visitors and giving a rundown re-trial ends and who has the mat.

4. After tea they will give a short speech to which the opposing team will respond.

5. At the end of the game the cards are collected, and the scores announced. The game cards have to be sent away or copied to the responsible representative for the league in question.
